Mormon Daddy Man
I have never cared to blog or put my thoughts and opinions on social media until recently. I only got a facebook account recently and don't use it very often. I've seen a lot of innacurate and disturbing references thrown around in social media and on the news about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some of these news items and social media posts are by supposedly active members of my church with 'intelectual' opinions and some excommunicated members that are upset at our church. I am an average member of our faith with a beautiful wife and 9 beautiful children whom I love more than words can accurately express. I was impressed recently that I needed to start voicing my opinion as an active 'mormon' husband and father. This is very uncharacteristic of me, because I don't claim to be smarter than anyone else and I don't normally like sharing my opinions with those who aren't extremely close to me. However, I see some people having their faith shaken by other people that are claiming to know more than they do about our faith. I think it's vital for myself and others like me to start taking a more vocal stand for what we believe in. I absolutely believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God that saw God the Father and Jesus Christ in the sacred grove. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that the priesthood which I bear is true and powerful and can only be used effectively when I'm living worthy of it. I know that Thomas S. Monson is our living Prophet on earth right now who holds and can exercise all of the priesthood keys. I know that my marriage to my wife is for eternity and I'm so grateful for this. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins as well as every one elses sins on the earth. I bear this testimony in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.
